Today's appointment with my consultant went well: my blood counts are apparently "perfect" and the marrow samples show nothing under microscope. (They are still waiting for the specialist unit in London that does the DNA test to return results.) My next appointment with her will be in four months, a little upgrade from the three-monthly pattern we've followed since I finished treatment.

I cycled to hospital and then on to work, and I stopped at the M&S in the hospital to buy nice things to share with my colleagues, as tweeted:

I still get overheated when exercising and am finding it actively unpleasant when the temperature rises above 25°C (I used to like the heat once, when I was a lot less fat). I've taken to carrying wipes so I can literally mop my brow when I finish walking or cycling. But at least these are problems of being active and mobile!

I'm very glad to know of your perfect blood counts, and it's lovely that you celebrated by treating your colleagues. I gather there's more hot weather coming, so hope you get through it without too much bother.

When a friend heard that I was coming to southern Japan in summer, they gave me a small towel. It's about 35x35cm, and it folds up small to go in a pocket, and it's excellent at removing sweat. It's a finer fabric than most large towels. Everybody here has one, for use after walking somewhere outside. I'm not sure if they're sold in the UK, but if so, it might be a more sustainable (and actually perhaps more pleasant) option than wipes? :-)

The trendy thing here for twenty-somethings seems to be replacing the mini-towel with disposable wipes that are impregnated with something that is supposed to make them feel cold - they're called "ICE STYLE" or some such. Unfortunately to me they don't feel cold so much as "OW CHEMICAL BURNS", so after being offered one once I learnt my lesson ;-)

Very good!

I also end up a soggy mess in hot weather, and find a small highly-absorbent travel towel to be very useful for wiping away sweat, similar to this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lifeventure-Fibre-Travel-Towel-Pocket/dp/B000PBVSYQ/

YAY for not having leukaemia!

I found a cold damp stretchy-headband was the BEST THING EVER for being hot while doing stuff.
